4/3/11

NL East: Phillies

The Phillies made the biggest signing of the off-season when they signed starter Cliff Lee. He will pitch along with Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt, Cole Hamels and Joe Blanton to make the best starting rotation in baseball. But their offense will be weaker than usual after right fielder Jason Werth signed with the Nationals and both second baseman Chase Utley and right fielder Domonic Brown were placed on the disabled list. Closer Brad Lidge will also start theseason on the DL. The Phillies need their starting pitching to keep them in the race until Utley, Lidge and Brown come back.
