The Braves added a power bat to their lineup by trading for second baseman Dan Uggla. They once again have a rookie in their starting lineup on opening day as Freddie Freeman will start at First Base. Their starting pitching is strong, especially if Tim Hudson can hav another good year. Their Bullpen will be anchored by 23 year old Craig Kimbrel and 25 year old Jonny Venters who will compete to replace Billy Wagner as the closer. Julio Teheran is the top pitching prospect in the minor leagues and may have a spot in the rotation by midyear.
